Keep It Intentional

Blessings,

I pray this finds you with ever-increasing presence, intention, and faith.

As of late, I’ve been more intentional with my energy, the mood in which I start my days, the words that I speak, and the thoughts that I allow to dwell in my mind — setting my intentions and allowing my life to align beautifully with them.

But in doing so, I’ve also had to reflect more deeply on what intention actually means to me. For me, intention isn’t about forcing life to do anything or expecting life to magically give me everything I desire. Intention is about working with life, co-creating with life, and becoming conscious of how I am participating in what I am calling forth.

I’ve realized that calling something into my life also requires me to investigate the areas within myself that may be misaligned with what I’m calling in. If I’m calling in peace or greater love, I have to be willing to see the places where I am not at peace and the areas of my heart where love has not yet emerged. If I’m calling in deeper communion with God, I have to see what may be distracting me from that communion. If I’m calling in something new, I have to be willing to see the ways I may still be holding on to the old.

Everything that I am calling in, I am also calling out of myself, and this understanding has allowed me to become more patient and present with my intentions. I know that I’m not asking life to work some kind of magic on my behalf. My intentions are also revealing me to myself, showing me where I am aligned and where deeper work may be required.

There is a beautiful scripture that reminds us that God knows what we need even before we ask. Lately, I’ve been reminded that maybe calling something in isn’t always about bringing something to us that isn’t already here. Maybe it’s also about becoming present enough to recognize what is already within us and what is seeking to be expressed through us.

The more I understand this, the less intention feels like a tool for manifestation and the more it feels like a way of living. This reminds me of a song from my new album, still free?, called keep it intentional. This record is a reminder that life is a ritual, a ceremony, and in everything we do, consciously or unconsciously, we are impressing our words, thoughts, and actions upon life and co-creating what we experience.

I think that’s where intentionality becomes intimate. It brings us into deeper relationship with ourselves, with God, and with life, allowing us to see how we’re living and whether that life is truly aligned with what we say we intend. Not so that we can control life, but so that we can consciously participate in it, work with it, and remain present with what is unfolding.

If this resonates and you feel called, I invite you to journey with me through this month’s 3-Day Meditation Series: Living Intentionally.

I pray that it serves you well in this season.
